Over £700 raised for Mossley Cricket Club

Everybody gathered at the start

On Sunday 6th May a band of 23 intrepid walkers, a dog and a minion headed off from the Vale Club on Canal Street in Congleton for a sponsored walk organised by club treasurer John Davies to help raise money for Mossley Cricket Club.

With the sun beating down the group headed up Canal Street and got onto the Macclesfield Canal, everybody was enjoying the peace and tranquillity of the countryside, feeding the ducks and waving at passing boats it was at this point the Minion remembered he had packed a portable speaker so to encourage his fellow walkers along a pre-downloaded 'work-out' playlist was soon the order of the day!

The group left the canal at bridge 73 and went along Brookhouse Lane, as the group passed Timbersbrook Picnic area, Ben 'Chudders' Chudleigh decided to show his chivalrous side and gallantly allowed Kerith to carry young Joshua up the dreaded steps towards the woodland! The group then carried on through the woodland to the top of the cloud where well earned drinks, a rest and picnics were enjoyed by all.

The Summit enjoying a well deserved rest.

It was a great family occasion and Mossley Cricket Club would like to thank everybody who participated and helped to raise over £700 towards the clubs 'Six Sixes' Challenge total!

You can still donate should you wish by clicking here.
