Latest News from Mossley Cricket Club

The new season is upon us following a busy winter. Indoor nets have been particularly well attended by the juniors with numbers continually on the rise. Thanks to our committed team of coaches for all their hard work ably led by Laura. We look forward to an active programme of games for the U 9s, the U 11s in the South Cheshire League and U14s in the South Moorlands league. The juniors will be sporting their new tops with our sponsor’s logo. We were able to acquire sponsorship from Wainshomes... thanks to them for their support.

We will again be running All Stars, the ECB initiative for 5-8 year olds, starting 10th May for 8 weeks. Numbers are up again this year so parents get your kit out and be prepared to be enlisted to take part!!! We will again have the usual BBQ and beers.

Seniors start their season 20th April with the !sts away at Saughall and the 2nds at home to Trafford Metrovics. Great work done by the skippers there. Unfortunately for the 2nds the league have to decided to impose a win/lose format so there will be no “grinding out good old Mossley draws” :)

During the winter the pavilion has received much needed refurbishment with extensive work being done repairing the roof.Meanwhile the ground is looking great thanks to Tony’s hard work...it’s a long time since we’ve had fairly hard wickets in April!!

Patrick organised a successful Race Night at the Vale club on 29th March with over £500 being raised. Thanks to Patrick and his helpers.

Outdoor nets began 18th April with another good turnout considering it’s the holiday period. As of the week beginning 22/4/19 senior training will take place on Thursdays at 6.30pm and juniors on Fridays at the same time. Let’s hope for another superb summer!

Finally we always welcome new players of any age so put the word out there please.
